Our background

We built flirtatious to provide you with a fun and enjoyable social playground where you can meet, flirt, socialize and network with people in a safe, secure and anonymous environment. Flirtatious respects the privacy of our members and has developed this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our commitment to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy is intended to describe for you, as an individual who is a user of the flirtatious website or who is an advertiser on our website, the information we collect, how that information may be used, with whom it may be shared, and your choices about such uses and disclosures. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully when using our website or services or transacting business with us. By using our website or otherwise doing business with us, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

The following terms are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use Agreement and are subject to all Terms and Conditions of such Agreement. Your use of any flirtatious service or this website is subject to the Terms of Use Agreement in its entirety. If you have any questions about our privacy practices, please refer to the end of this Privacy Policy for additional information on how to contact us.

Table of Contents:

1. Passwords

You may not disclose your password to any third party. If you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personally identifiable information. In addition, you may run the risk of another user accessing your password and using it to falsely represent your identity. If you have reason to believe that your password has been compromised for any reason, flirtatious strongly recommends that you immediately change your password.

2. Internet safety

Phishing (pronounced “fishing”) is an attempt to steal consumers' personal identity data, financial data, or account credentials. "Phishers" use 'spoofed' e-mails to lead consumers to counterfeit websites designed to trick recipients into divulging Personal Information such as credit card numbers, account usernames, passwords, and social security numbers. WE DO NOT SEND EMAILS ASKING YOU TO PROVIDE OR CONFIRM SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION SUCH AS YOUR USERNAME OR PASSWORD! If you receive such email communication, please forward it immediately to the Site's Privacy Administrator at abuse@flirtatious.com, and then immediately delete the fraudulent email from your computer. If we need to talk to you, we will send you an email to your flirtatious inbox.

3. Information we collect

When you interact with our website, two types of information are collected. Information you provide and information collected through the use of technology.

INOFMRATION YOU PROVIDE: When you register with flirtatious you create your own profile and establish search settings which tell our computer system what you are looking for. Your anonymous profile information including your flirtatious username and photos are displayed to other users so you can connect with people on our social playground. Our goal is to connect you with people whom you are interested in.

Your anonymous username, profile and pictures will be available in search results across the flirtatious network. If you want to invite existing friends to join flirtatious or if you find new friends on-line, you can send them a friend request. Anyone searching the site will see your anonymous username unless they have a verified “friend” relationship to you. People whom you have a confirmed relationship with will see your first name, your initials or whatever you have specified in your user profile. The information friends see can always be edited but to keep it safe and clean, we ask that you never provide your last name or any personal contact information anywhere on your profile. This violates our TERMS of USE and also allows spammers or other unsavory people to bother you.

INFORMATION COLLECTED USING TECHNOLOGY: Information in your profile may be quantitatively analyzed without identifying you as an individual. For example, we may aggregate how many people in a particular city or state like a TV show or movie. We may also personalize advertisements and promotions to match your individual preferences so that we can provide you with a better flirtatious experience. For example, if you are looking at a page with advertisements, they're more likely to be interesting to you if they are somewhat relevant to your tastes. For example, if you put a favorite movie in your profile, we might serve you an advertisement highlighting a screening of a similar movie in your town. But we won't tell the movie company who you are or provide any personally identifiable data.

You may, of course, decline to submit personally identifiable information through the flirtatious.com website, in which case you can still view profiles and explore our social playground, however, flirtatious may not be able to provide certain services to you. 6. Third-party advertisers, links to other sites

flirtatious allows other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within the flirtatious websites. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the flirtatious websites. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content you see.

Flirtatious does not provide any personally identifiable information to these third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to opt-in or opt-out. However, please note that if an advertiser asks flirtatious to show an advertisement to a certain audience (for example, men ages 18-34) or audience segment (for example, men ages 18-24 who drink) and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The advertiser may also use information regarding your use of the flirtatious websites, such as the number of times you viewed an ad (but not any personally identifiable information), to determine which ads to deliver to you.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks for more information on their practices and for instructions on how to opt-out of certain practices. Flirtatious.com's Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites. Any data obtained by third-party ad servers subsequently shared with flirtatious is maintained and dealt with by flirtatious in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Many advertisements are managed and placed on our Web sites by third parties. These companies are called "network advertisers." Network advertisers who place advertisements on our Web sites may use cookies and Web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information about your visits to our Web sites and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Finally, please keep in mind that if you click on an advertisement on one of our Web sites and link to a third party's Web site, then our Privacy Policy will not apply to your personally identifiable information collected on that third party's Web site and you must read the Privacy Policy posted on that site to see how your personally identifiable information will be handled.

7. Your privacy

We utilize cookies to auto fill certain user input boxes in the site. For example, we utilize cookies to auto fill search boxes based on your “search preferences” or to automatically fill in your username (but not your password) on the log in screen.

If you have Macromedia Flash installed on your computer, we may also use a file called a Flash Object to store your unique customer code or search preferences on your computer too. Unless deactivated by you, the Flash Object provides us with a backup method for recognizing you in the event that we are unable to identify your cookies.

8. Requests for your personal data

We are strongly opposed to the near Nazi like policies of the Bush administration here in the United States and are concerned with the pervasive government surveillance and increasing encroachment on the rights of individual freedoms and individual autonomy worldwide. This includes the myriad of unconstitutional acts perpetrated on the world under the guise of the “Patriot Act” and the appallingly illegal and immoral acts of wiretapping, eavesdropping and spying of honest law abiding citizens in all nations. We do not approve of these activities and we will not support them in any way.

We will not knowingly release any private data about you or your actions on our website without justification from a law enforcement agency. If you harass, threaten or stalk a website member in any way, we will ban you from the site and provide law enforcement with a log of your activity. If you violate the Terms of Use or display malicious behavior to us or other flirtatious members, your account will be closed immediately.

We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the flirtatious service or using the flirtatious name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.

Regardless of any opt-out choices that you make flirtatious may disclose personal information when it believes in good faith that such disclosures (a) facilitate compliance with laws, including, for example, compliance with a court order or subpoena, or (b) will help to: enforce our Terms of Use; enforce contest, sweepstakes, promotions, and/or game rules; protect your safety or security, including the safety and security of property that belongs to you; and/or, protect the safety and security of our web sites, Flirtatious Media, and/or third parties, including the safety and security of property that belongs to flirt.atious.com, LLC, Flirtatious Media or other third parties.

9. How we protect your personal information

We take appropriate security measures (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to help safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access and disclosure. For example, only authorized employees are permitted to access personal information, and they may do so only for permitted business functions. In addition, we use encryption in the transmission of your sensitive personal information between your system and ours, and we use firewalls to help prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to your personal information.

We want you to feel confident using our website to transact business. However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information, searches, or other communications will always remain secure. Users should also take care with how they handle and disclose their personal information and should avoid sending personal information through insecure email. If you are visiting our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred, stored or processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country.

12. No rights of third parties

This Privacy Policy does not create rights enforceable by third parties or require disclosure of any personal information relating to users of the website.

13. Changes in ownership (purchase and sale of businesses)

If the ownership of all or substantially all of the flirtatious.com business, or individual business units owned by flirtatious.com, LLC, were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy. From time to time, we may also purchase a business or sell one or more of our businesses (or portions thereof) and your personally identifiable information may be transferred as a part of the purchase or sale. In the event that we purchase a business, the personally identifiable information received with that business would be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, if it is practicable and permissible to do so. In the event that we sell a business, we will include provisions in the selling contract requiring the purchaser to treat your personally identifiable information in the same manner required by this Privacy Policy (including any amendments to this Privacy Policy). In light of this protection, your opt-out choices will not affect our right to transfer your information to a purchaser in these circumstances. The provisions of this paragraph will also apply in the event that one or more businesses of any other member of a flirtatious.com related Company is sold and personal information subject to this Privacy Policy is transferred to a purchaser of those businesses.

14. Changes to this privacy policy

We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Our research has shown the users do not like the new “awesome bar” in Firefox version 3. It is not very “awesome” and typically annoying so we continue to recommend that you also install this firefox add-on directly from Mozilla .

16. Monitoring site use

We reserve the right to monitor site use including user input text, advertisements, profiles, descriptions and messages to ensure that they conform to content guidelines and code of conduct which is subject to change from time to time.

17. Termination of access to service
